ENVIRONMENTAL GAME JAM

Unlike in games, we can’t load another save for our planet and start over – we have to do it right on the first run and save what we have. That is why the gamers of Helsinki Think Company and TKO-äly, the organization for students of computer science at the University of Helsinki, have teamed up to organize SAVE – The Environmental Game Jam.

SAVE is a unique game design event combining our love for gaming and environmental protection. In 8–10 June, we will gather in Terkko Health Hub with the goal of developing a game in 48 hours. Here’s the twist: The main theme of the games will be environmental protection and awareness. We believe that as game developers and gaming enthusiasts, we could use our craft and passion to help the planet.

Besides the main environment protection theme, there will be a minor theme unveiled at the event along with many surprises and voluntary challenges!

PRACTICAL MATTERS

What do you need?

Bring your laptops, drawing tablets, VR headsets and any other equipment you’ll need to create your game. We’ll provide the internet, some food and more.

When and where?

The game jam will be held on 8.–10.6.2018 in Terkko Health Hub in Meilahti (Haartmaninkatu 4).
