Think Company arrived in Meilahti

imageThe Center Campus, the Viikki Campus… and now the Meilahti Campus: Helsinki Think Company continues its expansion by opening at Biomedicum!

The opening event was celebrated grandiosely on March 2nd in cooperation with Health Capital Helsinki – an alliance for research, knowledge and business within the health technology and life science fields in the Helsinki region.

Approximately 400 representants from both the public and private sectors gathered to hear inspiring showcases of research based business, top of the field innovations and multidisciplinary cooperations.

In its newest venue at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Think Company aims to encourage the students and researchers to find and foster their entrepreneurial potential in the fields of healthcare and life science. This year the co-working space in Basaari will host inspiring events and projects where multidisciplinary groups can tackle the most pressing issues in healthcare.

Two tastes of such events were provided already in February. Our first two-day workshop MiniChallenge tackling Alzheimer took academic memory disorder research into action, and at the end of February the discussion event Future Health Club, multidisciplinary discussion transformed the differences of academic disciplines into strengths, when identifying the greatest challenges in healthcare.

In events and projects like these, the students gain valuable experience in cooperation skills in multidisciplinary groups, as well as the early stages of product development and service design planning. With the help of our friends at Health Capital Helsinki, any ideas born at Helsinki Think Company in Meilahti will have a fruitful platform for the commercialization of scientific research and support in business growth.
