UPM challenges you to dive into the world of corporate responsibility 28.–29.10.

In a world in which everyone is connected, it’s impossible to play alone.

Local communities have an increasingly important role in the decision making processes of companies around the world. Building sustainable relations to the surrounding community is crucial in modern business as we are all linked together. This is why we talk of ecosystems. But how can we strengthen the interaction between the company and the community?

Key to this is combining multidisciplinary knowledge into concrete action plans. To those interested in corporate responsibility, this field has many intriguing career paths to offer.

Helsinki Think Company together with UPM offers participants a weekend long dive, a.k.a. Mini Challenge, into the world of responsible community relations and economic, social and environmental value creation. The intensive one weekend workshop brings together students from different majors and backgrounds to take their academic know-how into action and solve a real life case provided by UPM.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Development Cooperation Theme Week.

Why UPM?

UPM is listed as the Leader in responsibility in the global Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2017–2018. The Finnish biofore company working on six continents has expertise in multiple fields of environmental business. UPM’s goal is to create solutions that are responsibly sourced and both ecologically and socially sustainable.

Why participate?

We gather a lot of knowledge and learn many valuable things during our university studies but there are only few opportunities to put the knowledge into concrete action before entering the working life. During Mini Challenge you’ll learn valuable skills about problem solving and teamwork, you’ll start to identify your skills, and get to know UPM as a employer.

How to participate?

Application for this Mini Challenge was closed 22nd October. The Mini Challenge will be held Sat – Sun 28. – 29.10. in Think Corner, Yliopistonkatu 4. The programme is in English. For more information on the event, contact helsinki@thinkcompany.fi.
